Functions of prepositions for UPSR 2014
1. Locate the place of the activities
a. He stopped at the canteen for a drink. (NOT IN THE CANTEEN)
b. Bryan swam in the pool. (NOT ON THE POOL)
c. Bryan found his ring under the bed.
d. The little bird fell from a branch of that tree. (NOT FELL DOWN FROM)
2. Indicate the time or duration of the activities
a. He waited till four.
b. You will have to wait until noon.
c. Bryan waits for the teacher between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. (NOT BETWEEN ... TO)
3. Indicate direction
a. The boy ran out of the burning house. (An event of fire)
b. Bryan received a shock when he walked into the house. (An event)
