How do you write a recount?

A recount is an account of past incident that you saw or experienced. In a recount, you narrate the incident in the order it happened using the past tense. A recount is always written in the first person. You have to use “I”, “My”, “Me” and “Mine” for the person who tells the story. When you write a recount based on a series of pictures, you need to study the pictures in their correct sequence carefully. Plan your recount. Make sure you have a setting, a main event and a resolution. Provide relevant information about the event relating to who, when, where, what and how.

They use detail to bring the picture to the reader. For instance, rather than saying the jungle is dangerous, they describe features of the jungle which make it appear threatening.
